Great Eye Dr. He performed my cataract surgery. The nurses and staff are pleasant and were great at keeping you informed and warm, lol! Operating rooms are so cold. Dr Jansen is the best and so is the entire staff, from the moment you walk in, discuss which lens is the best for you, with insurance and options and through the surgery. And with the follow up. Both of my cataract removal experiences have been excellent. Dr Lenci explained all my options and expected outcomes with each, including that the most expensive was not the best for me. I am thrilled with my results, and highly recommended both him and the Four States Surgical Center (where he does procedures). Staff was courteous and efficient. Even verified the follow up appointment with my regular eye doctor; I had the wrong date and time. Wait time was a little longer than I expected. But, really that just told me that Dr. Osborn takes whatever time he needs with a patient to ensure quality work. My regular eye doctor said he is the only eye surgeon he recommends to his family. So, I would say that Dr. Osborn does pretty great work. He met with me only at my consultation appointment and that may surprise some people. His staff did call to check on me the next day. When I was surprised to hear that I didn’t need glasses but that I needed cataract surgery, here is what gave me confidence in Dr. Lucas (Luke) Lenci. 1) Highly recommended. My well-respected optometrist recommended him, without hesitation, and set up the appointment. 2) Reviews. My son, whose wife experienced a poor surgeon with her LASIK surgery, said “READ the reviews”. Dr.Lenci has done 1000’s of procedures (see his bio) and has a 5-star rating with good reviews. 3) Locations. He does surgery in several locations, including Joplin, allowing the option of my surgery to be done “in-network” saving me significantly on my deductible. 4) Sacrificial. I am a Neuropsychologist. I have had chronic dry eye for the last two years which gradually became worse to the point it could be career and life changing. I stated my symptoms of severe dry eye, dry mouth, and spasms of the eyes to the Mayo Clinic, John's Hopkins, and Barne's Hospital. I was totally blown off by all three. I pleaded my case telling them I am not a neurotic individual and that I know something serious beyond dry eye is happening to me. They wouldn't listen to me. I took an 18 second video clip of my situation to Dr. Meyer. He looked at the video clip and within 5 seconds diagnosed my condition as Benign Essential Blepharospasm. Only 5 people out of 100,000 receive this diagnosis. It is a rare disease but Dr. Meyer said he as seen it many times. I had dealt with severe dry eye for the last two years and it became so bad that I would have spells when I could hardly open my eyes without grimacing and blinking. I knew if it continued to get worse it could be career ending. I talked to the Mayo Clinic and Barnes Hospital and both said they don't see folks with dry eye as it is too common. I saw Dr. Meyer to get a referral to the Cleveland Clinic and he immediately diagnosed my condition as Benign Progressive Blepharospasm. Finally, I am getting help. Yes. Dr. Lensi and his staff were very nice to work with. I am new to the Springfield area. I was told by my doctor in Overland Park, KS I was a candidate for cataract surgery but I could wait if I wanted to. I decided to wait then we moved prior to the Covid pandemic and my eyes got worse so thought I should go have the surgery done. Dr. Lensi said I could still wait if I wanted to and is treating me for dry eye and will look at my eyes in 6 months. That impressed me that he isn’t rushing me into surgery (after all that’s how his specialty makes money). I know I’ll need surgery in a year maybe two. The visit was rushed, the technician that did the measurements and exam was very professional and the staff was extremely nice. I was very pleased with my visits with Dr.Lenci. He gave such a calm assurance of what would take place. Just my right eye was needing surgery at the time and it was an immediate success. However I have always been very nearsighted and the extreme difference was really a hardship on me. He was quick to pick up on that at my check up and set about to make sure I would be able to get my second eye taken care of that week. Amazingly he was able to get me worked in. Also successful. I had worn glasses since I was 6 years old and I'm so thankful that I took Dr Lenci's advice on what lense would be a good fit for me. Two months ago,Dr. Lucas Lenci, of Missouri Eye Institute, removed the cataract and lens from my right eye. His Staff of Professionals, were kind, courteous and caring. I had my right.I felt so relaxed, as I put myself, in Gods Hands, and this Professional, experienced young Doctor. I felt almost nothing. When I was alert enough to ask about my eye, I was told it was over. my vision is 20/40. Recently I had my left eye cataract surgery. Like before, they were very kind. Two years ago I had 2 retinal detachment surgeries causing a cataract that needed removed. I was nervous about seeing Dr. Lenci as I didn't know anything about him. After meeting for a consult I felt very comfortable using Dr. Lenci. He discussed all the possible treatments, explaining what was/was not appropriate for my particular circumstance. He's also very down to earth and likable. I had the cataract removed from my left eye which gave me 20/20 vision, which was nothing short of astounding. My right eye still had very poor vision, so after a week of trying to wear contacts, Dr. Lenci performed a PRK treatment in that eye. Two years ago I had 2 retinal detachment surgeries causing a cataract that needed removed. I was nervous about seeing Dr. Lenci as I didn't know anything about him. After meeting for a consult I felt very comfortable using Dr. Lenci. He discussed all the possible treatments, explaining what was/was not appropriate for my particular circumstance. He's also very down to earth and likable. I had the cataract removed from my left eye which gave me 20/20 vision, which was nothing short of astounding. My right eye still had very poor vision, so after a week of trying to wear contacts, Dr. Lenci performed a PRK treatment in that eye. I travelled 2 hours one way to have Dr. Lenci take care of my cataracts and perform a blepharotomy on my eyelids. I've worn glasses since i was in 1st grade throughout my life I have been told by many optoms that I was too near sited for lasik. I was too near sited until I met Dr. Lenci who was very upfront and honest the whole time letting me know he would do lasik, but I wouldn't have perfect vision. Dr. Lenci was recommended to me by my optometrist, and I'm so glad she did! I had the early stages of cataracts, but I also had really bad astigmatism, and nearsightedness. Dr. Lenci utilized toric multifocal lenses, and has taken my vision from 20/400 to 20/20! I would highly recommend Dr. Lenci to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist. I had congenital cataracts and astigmatism in both and my eyes were getting bad quickly. 20/110 or so. The doctor found a lens that was able to repair both things at once and got my eyes to 20/20 near and far. I have worn glasses since I was 6 and now at 42 I don't have to anymore. I chose to have Dr. Lenci use the Toric lens for my surgery to correct my astigmatism. I'm very pleased with this decision. My last surgery was on July 24, 2018 and my eyesight is already very clear. I would highly recommend Dr. Lucas Lensie for any vision surgery you need. I had cataract surgery in March and also had a stint inserted in my right eye to relieve pressure. The result was 20/20 vision and a high drop in pressure. Six weeks later I had the same surgery on my left eye with the insertion of a Toric lens to correct astigmatism.
